How egg freezing works
Egg freezing takes about two weeks of active treatment. You take hormone injections to help your ovaries produce several mature eggs, instead of the one they would release naturally. Those eggs are collected, frozen and stored until you want to use them. When that day comes, they are thawed, fertilised and transferred.

Should I freeze my eggs now or wait?
Sooner is almost always better. Egg quality and numbers fall with age, and freezing locks in the eggs you have today. Waiting does not make the decision easier. It makes the odds worse. A consultation and a simple test will tell you where you stand.
Am I suitable for egg freezing?
Most women who want to freeze their eggs are suitable to begin the process. Suitability depends on your health and your ovarian reserve, which we check at consultation. If freezing is not the right step, we will say so and explain what else you can do.
What checks and tests will I need before treatment?
Typically you will need a blood test, an ovarian reserve check, a scan and some routine screening. Your specialist confirms exactly what you need, so you only do what is necessary.
Do I need a partner to freeze my eggs?
No. Egg freezing is something you do for yourself. No partner is required and no sperm is involved at this stage
How does the egg freezing process work?
You take hormone injections for around ten to fourteen days, with scans and blood tests to track your response. Your eggs are then collected in a short procedure under sedation. Mature eggs are frozen in our laboratory and kept in secure storage until you want to use them.
How long does an egg freezing cycle usually take?
Expect roughly two weeks from starting medication to egg collection, though this varies from person to person. Initial tests happen beforehand. Some women need more than one cycle to freeze enough eggs, and your specialist will give you a realistic view for your case.
